Webtrends Tagbuilder

Webtrends TagBuilder

Webtrends TagBuilder provides standardised JavaScript tags that you can use to set up simple and advanced tracking on your web site for either Webtrends software using the SDC or WebTrends OnDemand.

For a simple implementation and ease of maintenance, TagBuilder generates the following files:

  • readme.txt contains a description of the tag files and deployment instructions
  • webtrends.html contains the JavaScript code
  • webtrends.js is the JavaScript include file referenced in webtrends.html
  • tbconfig.xml contains the information you need to upgrade an existing tag using TagBuilder

TagBuilder can create tags for the following specialised situations:

  • Tracking downloaded files
  • Tracking offsite links
  • On-click event tracking using dcsMultiTrack, including form completion tracking
  • Custom query parameter tracking
  • Customised cookie tracking including OMB-compliant cookie tracking

TagBuilder is available at https://tagbuilder.webtrends.com/.

N.B.  If you have already implemented dcsMultiTrack for any type of web site tracking, please consult us before you use the Tag Builder functions found on the Click Event Tracking page.

The tag can be customised, e.g. to remove unwanted traffic (N.B. for removal of unwanted traffic from log files) see LogChopper. For further information contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
